My GE dishwasher, model GLD6760N20SS, has been having this issue lately where I close the door, the unit lights up, signaling that the door is closed, but when I push start, the dishwasher will not start. This issue is intermittent and does not happen every time...probably 40% of the time it happens. Sometimes, if I push in the door in harder, it will start, but as soon as I let off pressure, the unit will stop. It seems to me that the dishwasher is sensing that the door is open, and therefore, not running; however, the door is closed.

From the research I've done online, it seems as though this might be an issue with the latch. As I search for parts, there appear to be many items related to the latch assembly, so I'm not exactly sure where to start. Any help would be appreciated....thank you!!
