Hello,

I have a Bosch shx45p05uc/60 dishwasher. It is new to me, as I bought a house (as is) with the dishwasher in it. When run, the dishwasher fills with water, and then does nothing more. If I cancel the cycle the water will drain from the machine. I got the machine to display the error codes. It stores them for the previous 8 cycles. For each of those it shows E1. My interpretation is that this is a heating issue.

I have taken the dishwasher apart and checked the heating element. In the circuit diagram it is supposed to have a resistance between 11.5 and 12.5 ohms. I measured mine a 12.1 ohms. I think that means that my heating element is okay.

I wondered if it my be the thermocouple. I took that out and connected it to the continuity test of my multimeter. At low temperature I had continuity. I put it in a bath of boiling water. Within fifteen seconds or so I heard a click and continuity stopped. It is supposed to switch at 85 degrees C, and this seemed to fit with my observed behavior. I think I have eliminated the thermocouple as the issue.

What else is there? The control board?

Any thoughts on what I might look for would be appreciated.
