Kenmore dryer problems after replace drum belt/idler pulley

Hello, I just replaced a broken drum belt for my kenmore electric dyer, and also replaced the idler pulley. It took me hours to disassemble, do the work, then reassemble, as I have never done this type of work before. Anywho, when I reassembled everything and put wet/damp clothes in to dry, the drum had a very hard time turning. It would start out turning, then turn slower, then stop as if it didn't have the strength to turn the weight. If there was nothing in the dryer, or very little in it, then it would turn fine. I am at my wits end for what to do here. I have taken it apart and reset everything twice now(I feel like a pro at disassembly/reassembly now :o/ ), but it still turns slowly under heavier loads. Does anyone have an idea of what the problem could be, so that I don't try every part to replace until I find the right one? Thanks in advance.

I don't know what happened, but the more I ran it empty, the easier it started to take more and more clothes.?. I have a little bit larger of a load in there now, so it seems to be running fine. But I still haven't tried a real heavy load yet. I wonder why it's working better now?
