Our fridge makes this very large banging noises twice a day at 3:30am an 8:30pm. For about 5-6 seconds. Like clockwork plus our minus 1-2 minutes
Most times about 5-8 minutes later, another time, less loud, and shorter in duration.+1/

Occassionally it will occur +/- an hourish from this time. But 90% of the times it is at those exact times.

Loud enough to wake us up in a 2 story house. First time it happens, we thought someone was trying to break into the house.

I have heard the compressor go off during the day, but there is no noise afterwords.
