I have a Kenmore 790.94452701. The front left burner stopped working. The element light lights but the burner never gets hot. I think it may be related to the simmer feature. I removed the back and checked the switch continuity. When set to high, the following pairs are shorted: L1 and P, L1 and H1, L2 and H2. I unplugged H1 and H2 and checked continuity of the burner with the cables. it was only a few ohms. I plugged the stove in and I have 240 across L1 and L2. I found a wiring diagram for another stove in the series that doesn't have the simmer feature, based on this diagram, it should be working. I don't know how the simmer feature changes the circuit. I have two questions: Did I miss something in the above tests? If not, does anyone have a wiring diagram that shows the simmer circuit or know how it works.
