I have a GE Refrigerator PFSF6PKXDWW and recently I have been experiencing water in the fresh food area. Doing some reading online led me to discover a frozen drain hole. After melting the ice blockage a few times, I had ensured the defrosted water had a clear unrestricted path to the drain pan I proceeded to install a Samsung drain clip AP5579885 which was supposed to radiate heat from the defrost heater, therefore keeping the drain hole free from freezing. I installed the drain clip not 30hrs ago and already the hole has plugged up with ice and water is leaking out into the fresh food area. The Radiator-like device behind the ASM cover was not frozen or full of ice so I believe the defrost heater is doing its job. Despite running hot water through the drain hole and witnessing it drain out into the drain pan, within 30hrs of the repair, the area around the drain hole as well as inside the drain hole itself has yet again become a solid plug of ice. This ice plug is at least 10" deep What could cause the drain hole area to freeze and plug up so soon? The Fridge and Freezer both seem to work fine and there are no temperature issues to report. Can it be due to a bad sensor or possibly the fan might not be shutting off? I just can't tell. If it were a bad sensor I would think there would be a temp issue in the fridge but there is not. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
