I replaced the filter six months ago on my Kenmore Coldspot model 106.51133213 side by side fridge. At the time I had trouble getting the filter, which is the OEM part number 469081, to stay seated and for the filter housing door to shut completely.

The instruction manual states to put the filter in and close the housing door, which will seat it firmly in place. It said that I may have to push it in hard to get it installed properly, which I did. However, now when I open the housing, the filter does not pop out like it is supposed to.

I don't know how to fix this and now cannot get the filter I replaced six months ago out to replace it with a new one. I would really appreciate any help!
