Hi after cleaning my range-top the rear 6" coil element stopped working. When I turned it on something arced; looking at it closely the terminal clip contacted the element and was spot welded to it.

I tried swapping a known good 6" element to that location, and it didn't heat either. I then tried the bad element in another location and it didn't heat.

My guess is that: the 6" element and the infinite switch are damaged? Possibly the terminal block.

The range is a GE Model JSS16OP1WH

I just want to confirm the specific parts; the infinite switch on my unit looks different from the listed one on the website.

Infinite switch AP2023855
6" surface element AP2634727
Terminal block kit AP2021472

Thanks!

Hi, ordered the 6" burner, infinite switch and terminal clip. Parts arrived in California in a day and a half. Turned off the stove breaker and replaced parts. 15 minutes later everything works perfectly.

THANKS!
