I have a 10 year old Kitchenaid kuis15nrh59 ice machine that fairly abruptly stopped making ice recently. I thoroughly cleaned the unit and watched it as it went through its cycle. Upon turning it on the water receptacle filled with water and the recirculation pump started circulating water over the evaporation plate and formed a sheet of ice that was successfully ejected to the cutting grid which did its thing while another sheet started forming . When the next sheet was ejected some water was ejected with it which melted most of the first batch of ice. This time the water receptacle did not fill all the way up with water and the recirculation pump starting making noice due to inadequate water. I the turned to the machine off and back on and the receptacle filled all the way up and the machine worked properly for another cycle, doing the same thing as describe above al over again. I haven’t check the water inlet valve as the machine appears to get adequate amounts of water when it is turned on initially. Could this actually be an inlet valve problem or perhaps a problem with the control board or something else? Any feedback would be much appreciated.
