The dryer will buzz when pressing to start. I took the drum out, cleaned out the interior, and blew out the motor. I took the lint duct out and cleaned it out completely. Without reinstalling the drum I still have the problem, buzz and no start. If I give the blower fan a nudge to rotate it, it starts right up.

Assuming there is nothing blocking free motion of the blower it sounds like a bad start winding on the motor. Not a particularly bad repair in my world when it goes well but you may have issues getting blower off. Motor is Whirlpool part #279827.

Caveat is that sometimes the blower wheel will end up being removed in pieces. So might add that price to it. You won't know until you try so if you are inclined to try to change motor I'd start by trying to get blower off before ordering motor. For reference this is what blower looks like. Note the square middle section that holds the molded-in metal nut. It allows this to be a 1 person job. Usually.

I use a large 12" adjustable wrench to hold square section of blower wheel inside cabinet, immediately behind motor; not from back of dryer. You can use a few parts of the dryer to block that wrench from turning and free up a hand. Then use another wrench to try to turn motor shaft by the belt pulley end of motor shaft. IIRC it is reverse thread but drawing a blank on that. Maybe 1 out of 10 times I'd need to destroy blower wheel. Wear gloves, it often comes free in a sudden fashion and your hands will pay for it.

Good Luck.
