My Kenmore Elite fridge is not working. The condenser and evaporator fans are working and I can hear clicking from the compressor in rapid succession. So I though I’d look for the relay and see if it is faulty. Since the relay is usually attached to the compressor I opened up the cover on the side of the compressor and all I find is what looks like a (white, 3 pin) connector. This connector is hooked up to a large capacitor. The service manual circuit diagram appears to show two options: EMBRACO compressor and an LG MATSUSHITA compressor. I have the LG compressor and a PTC (positive temp coefficient) starter. Is the PTC starter the relay? I can’t seem to find it (unless it is the white connector hooked up to the cap).

Does anyone have experience with this thing? Any suggestions on what to do next?
Thanks!
