My Samsung dishwasher often has a bad smell and sometimes leaves a residue, particularly on glassware. It happens most often when it's heavily loaded but sometimes on light loads as well.
Most of the forum posts, here and elsewhere, say the most likely cause is food or other matter blocking the drain. I've taken apart the inside as far as seems obvious. attached are some photos showing how far I've disassembled. The white powder/paste in the close-up photo is just baking soda that I used with vinegar to try to clean the sump.
I've also removed the entire unit to checked the drain hose and found no blockage of any kind.
Where do I look next?
Thanks
