The dryer drum has stopped turning. From troubleshooting, it seems it's not the belt because it has a normal level of resistance on spinning by hand. When turned on, it hums because the fan is putting out heat. It otherwise doesn't make any loud or unusual noises. It seems that bearings and slides make noise when they go bad, right? Is this a motor problem?

Is this a motor problem? Possibly the motor pulley is loose on the shaft or the grooves are worn so bad that the belt has no way to get any traction. Otherwise the motor is not able to develop the starting torque due to worn or damaged bearings.
