Hello all, was getting burning smell. Vacuumed everything really well and now I get no heat.
There are 3 things suggested to replace at Appliance Parts Pros. Dryer Cycling Thermostat (58%) Thermal Cut-Off Kit (28%) Hi-Limit Thermostat (9%) Heating Element Connecting Wire
Thanks for any suggestions.

Gman48 those suggestions are just generic starting points... Do you have or know how to use a multi-meter?

Unfortunately, no to both questions. I was going to start replacing parts with the best educated guess as to what it might be.
Thanks for the reply.

You can get a cheap multi-meter @ harbor freight or places like that It would be money well spent and a time saver also Just replacing arbitrary parts in hopes you happen to replace the right one is like throwing darts at a moving bullseye You might even replace all the aforementioned parts and none of them be bad Other issues cause no heat like the heating element and the motor centrifugal switch and the control timer. So it your best interest I highly recommend getting a multimeter that checks continuity... If you do there are many videos to show you how to safely use it

Brobriffin, there appears to be something wrong with the website here. I had waited for a reply and after several days of not getting one I decided to order the Thermal Cut-off Kit and must have got lucky because the heat is back on again. I see now that you had replied the same day which is strange that I didn’t see it. However, after turning it on for just a short period of less than a minute, I began to smell the burning smell again so I shut it off. I’m guessing whatever is causing the burning smell caused the Thermal Cut-off to do it’s job and turn off.
Any suggestions on where to go from here? Someone had mentioned that we could reverse the direction of our shop vac and try to blow out the exhaust area in reverse. Or do you think it’s something wrong with the heating elements causing the problem?
Now when I tried to reply on the quick reply to your last post, I start typing and the page seems to reload erasing all that I wrote. I even tried on my i-phone and it was doing the same thing which is why I feel it’s the website. To get by this, I typed my reply and copied it so I would just have to paste it into the reply area and hit post. Hopefully, this will work. Thanks

Gman yes I know what you mean something was wrong with the site
As for the burning smell it could be anything from a build up lint inside the heating element can to an overheating heating element. Can you determine the type of burning smell? does it smell electrical or does it smell like fabric burning

Got it taken care of. It was in need of cleaning on the heating elements. We did have someone out to look at it and they used the shop vac in reverse and took care of it.
Thanks for all your help. Glad the site is back in working order. :)
