I am working on a Electrolux ice maker. The is on a french door type unit with the ice maker in the fresh food section.

The problem is the stepper motor in the ice maker will not drive the ice mold all the way to the fill position. (on the right side of the ice maker.) It sounds like it is slipping when it gets close to the limit switch.

My question Should this be just a matter of replacing the motor? or could there be something else? I have not taken it apart to see if there are any gears that are involved.

I ran diagnostics and it drove to the freeze side just fine.

Thanks.
