First, I'm unsure of the model number. I can't find a tag and the manual isn't helpful either. The display shows "cll svc", the dryer will operate, but doesn't function properly. How do I do any sort of diagnosis? I've tried to unplug, but sadly that didn't clear the code. The only tag has some sears info on it and a date of 06/11

That is not the whole model number. I did a search by your error code and I think your number might be 417.81100 plus a bunch more zeros and a number at the end.

The search came up with this...

Kenmore error cll srv / e64 - AppliancePartsPros.com

And this...

https://www.justanswer.com/appli...17-81100000-cll-srv.html

Apparently cll srv means call service as in call a service technician.

Actually, you were correct, the number is 417.81100000

Question is, how do I diagnose it? I haven't been able to find any useful information. Sure, anybody can call a repair shop.

It would be helpful if you tell me what the dryer does or doesn't do. Several of the threads I read about this dryer mentioned error 64.

Apparently there is some kind of diagnostic program the dryer can run that actually tells you the error code.

The second link in other post goes to another help site, they said this:

"
Let`s run a diagnostics on the unit .
READING ERROR CODES 1. Wake the dryer up by pressing the "power" button. If dryer will not wake up, refer to Error "No Display".
2. Turn the knob to any cycle.
3. Press and hold the “power” and “start /pause” buttons simultaneously for 6 seconds to show the last error code recorded. The error code will appear in the display as an E followed by two numbers. NOTE: E00 means no failure code experienced.
4. To view the last 5 error codes recorded or to clear all error codes,"
