Hi all,

I'm trying to help my mom figure out what's wrong with her refrigerator. We've had it about 8 years and recently it doesn't get cold enough. The set temps are 0/37 and the actual temps are 28/61. I can still hear the motor (compressor?) running as normal, door switches still turn light on and off. What should I be looking for to troubleshoot more? I'm fairly mechanically inclined and willing to give everything a try.

Here are some info I got from the fridge's label:
Model No: GSHS5KGXCCSS
110-127 VAC 60 HZ 11.6 AMPS
REFRIGERANT R134A CHARGE 4.5 OZ.

Thanks

I found out that the condenser coils were very dusty and coils in the freezer were all frozen. I cleaned all the dust with a vacuum cleaner. Hopefully after the coils melt it should work again as normal.

Well, after the coils melted I plugged the power cord back in and it ran for an hour or so then stopped. Now it won't do anything :( Any ideas?

Update: after a few more power resets, it seems to be working normally now.

Okay, so I've noticed that the fridge temperatures are slowly rising again. I think the cooling coils are starting to frost over again. Any idea why it would keep doing that?
