I have a Whirlpool Gold with freezer on the bottom and French doors in stainless. Model # GI7FVCXXY01, 6 years old. The controls for the ice and water dispensers are controlled by a touchpad along with 4 touch sensitive buttons in each corner of the main control board on the left hand side door. Here`s the problem. The buttons in the corners work but the touch pad which has the controls for ice, light, options, and measured water has stopped working. After searching, I have found that the main control board is in limited supply and is quite expensive. Is there a part under the touch pad that can be replaced? Thanks

Was thanked: 4 time(s) in 4 post(s)
Whirlpool does not sell any separate parts for the dispenser control board. It comes as an assembly only. Yes, it is very expensive but worse part of it is that Whirpool has discontinued this part in all colors but black. And even black is on back order what means nobody can guarantee Whirlpool will keep making it.

The control board Part number: AP6018842
Part number: AP6018842

You can find ETA on the part by contacting Appliance Parts Pros customer service

Unplugged refrigerator for 5 minutes. Plugged back in and touchpad now works. When in doubt, reboot. Thanks again.
