27 inch single wall oven approximately 35 years old. Broiler and bake elements both work as expected. Oven cooks better than my new Jenn- Air. Noticed a slight warmth the past few days when opening oven door after it had not been used since the previous day. The heat is coming from the broiler element. I can touch it without any burning, but it's slightly warm. Any help is appreciated.

Most ranges only switch on/off only one half of the 240 volts needed to heat an element. That means there is always 120 volts to the element at all times.
If the insulator material inside the element starts to break down, the element can get warm on the 120 volts.(shorts to ground) Its probably time for a new element.

Thanks, That Guy. It's likely the original element so it's probably time.
