Our washer will agitate normally but will produce a loud clicking noise during the spin cycle. The machine will begin the spin cycle but will not advance to the high speed spin. When this happens, the lights in our kitchen will dim in time with the clicking noise. What I've done so far:

-Removed and cleaned the pump after draining the water
-Removed the housing and reconnected the lid switch so that I could operate the spin cycle
-I visibly observed an arc inside the motor that corresponds with the clicking sound
-Pulled the motor and tested resistance across all terminals - all normal
-Pulled the motor switch and tested it for continuity in the open and closed position on all terminals - all normal

I'm fairly certain its the motor but I get sick thinking that I may be wasting $250 by ordering a new motor when it may be something else. Is it possible to replace the centrifugal switch? Or test it?

Please help.
