My dryer is stuck in sensing mode. The service repair person said that the motor and switch need to be replaced because the vent was blocked and the lent backed up, burning out both. He said the computer board is fine. Can you please let me know if this is a repair that I can do myself and if so, is there is a repair manual you recommend? The service repair person said it is not covered by the extended warranty and will cost $400-450 plus. Many thanks!

Thank you very much, Gene, for your reply. Unfortunately, the repair person just said the motor and switch. Is there some way I can do a diagnosis on the front to figure out which switch? I really appreciate your help.

I would check the door switch, just in case. There is a motor centrifugal switch, but it comes together with the motor.

I called the repair people and they said I need to replace the motor belt and blower wheel. Are these the "motor and switch" that the tech mentioned? Thanks

I believe I have also seen you referring to this whirlpool link in other posts.
Do you have, or know of, a current working Service Manual?
If you do know of one I would very much appreciate your forwarding it to me.
