Often my dryer immediately trips the house circuit breaker when I hit the start button. I reset the circuit breaker, hit the start button, trips again. Around the 3rd or 4th try, it stays on. Then it works every time for a few days before this happens again. It doesn't matter if the dryer is on air or heat, full or empty. Once it's on, it works great for days. Then, boom, it trips the breaker again.

The dryer repair guy says it's not the dryer. The electrician says it's not the panel. The dryer is the only thing on that breaker. I've paid both repair guys, and still have the problem. The dryer is under 5 years old, runs great once it decides to. Help!

Is the breaker a 30 amp double?

Is it a ground fault interrupter type?

Feel the breaker after the dryer runs for 30 minutes. Does it feel warm?

Thank you for your reply!
It IS a 30amp double
It is NOT warm at all after running an hour
It’s a 1970 circuit breaker box, so it’s the older breaker. Not sure if it’s what you mean.
