We have an older Whirlpool refrigerator with the freezer on top. I need to remove the refrigerator door to replace the door gasket.
My question is, do I have to also dismantle the freezer door hinges and work down to the refrigerator door, as the manual instructions state? Or, could I simply dismantle the lower hinge on the refrigerator door and allow the door to drop down and out of the upper hinge assembly?
Just trying to avoid taking the freezer door off, if I can! It looks like the refrigerator door should just drop down from it's upper hinge pin!?
Thanks!

It worked! Didn't need to remove the upper freezer door as the manual suggested! Simply took out the two bolts holding the lower hinge and presto! The refrigerator door dropped down and out of the upper hinge pin! Simple reversal to re-install.
