Hello, I am new here and new to repairs. My electric oven on bake setting won't turn on but all other settings like broil, clock, timer etc does.. At first it would not even pre heat.
Anyhow I took the back panel off and the circuit board part where the bake cable was connected it is burnt and the plastic hardware that holds the bake cable melted over the cable terminal.
I know what the issue is the burnt board so I ordered another circuit board but I have 2 questions.

1. Can I use the same cable to reconnect to the new circuit board? The cable is not burnt nor the terminal. The terminal has the charred black stuff that I cleaned as best I can but still has some left but it does connect well?

2. Why did the circuit board bake part burn out?

Thank you to all!
