Don't know what the wife may have dried in it. If her clothing was stained, she didn't notice.

I did sent the photo to Maytag , waiting to hear from them.

This may be a mystery that goes unsolved??


Usually this color just comes off clothing onto the bulkhead and not back on items in subsequent loads. I wouldn't expect it to transfer back, can't rule that out though. Ask her if she washed something of a similar color, probably something new.

A couple of years ago I repaired a dryer that was used by a hair salon that dried brown towels in it constantly. The inside of the drum and almost all the other interior surfaces were brown and it was baked on so well I did not attempt to remove it. MY guess is that the red stain came from clothing or a soap type product.

The wife said , no new clothing or redish materals were put in the dryer.

I guess i will go with this.

As long as the dryer keeps working, with out problem, going to keep using it.
