My GE (Freezer on bottom, french doors on top) has a water dispenser inside on left side. The control panel has not functioned for about a year (because I was told the "circuit boards cost $900 each to replace) - but the fridge works fine without the control panel. However it was "time" to replace the water dispenser so all of a sudden the control panel started beeping like MAD every 2 seconds. After calling a repair man (he couldn't fix it without ordering new circuit boards ($900), I took the control panel off myself to start cutting wires and low and behold must have giggled something and the control panel started working - so I was able to hold the "reset button" in for 3 seconds and all was well. Except for now. The beeping has started again. I can hit the reset button, but it only works for a little while. Does anyone know which wire in that control panel controls the beeping? I need to cut that wire!!!! That beeping is driving me crazy. Or is there another solution?
