Our ice maker is making ice intermittently, perhaps making two or three trays of ice per day. Temp seems to be ok. I live in a rural area, so it would be expensive / difficult to get a repair service. I’ve replaced the icemaker WPW10122559 and cleaned the cooling coils. The led / sensor light in the ice box goes on when I open the door, but goes off if I push in the door open switch and the switch that opens the door from the ice maker to the icebox. Any suggestions?

How old is the water filter? The water filter Part number: AP5983564
You may want to run the service diagnostic mode as instructed in the attached tech sheet and post the results. Good luck.

Thank you Gene, our water filter is 109 days old and 51 gal usage. There should be some life left. I used the diagnostics on the sheet you sent and everything passed except the ice tray fill. It said the ice tray had to be empty of ice, but it wasn't. It seems to make ice ok, but doesn't cycle when done. I thought that the door sensor doesn't work, but the diagnostics comes back as ice tray present and not full, which is correct.

Another though is that it isn't cold enough where the ice maker is located. Max cool is 14 or 15 F. I'm not sure how to make it colder. Freezer is already set for max cold - 5F and fridge for 36 (I don't want to go much colder). Ice maker is at top of fridge (not freezer) and ice drops into ice bucket in door of fridge.

I believe the new ice maker is still in place. Also, would not hurt if you would check the real temperature next to the ice make using a regular refrigerator thermometer.
