My Frigidaire Affinity Dryer, FASE7370LW0, on startup, began to make what I believed to be a belt slipping sound. It would "Whir" for about 2 seconds, as if the belt was slipping, and then "catch" and work normally.

I changed out the belt, idler pulley and idler spring.

Now I get Whir/clunk and then the dryer works normally.
It only lasts seconds before it begins to function normally.

I rotated the drum manually and it sounds fine. Of course the torque that I can manually apply is nowhere near what the motor does.

Any ideas?

Well, in listening more closely, it sounds like a drum roller.
I never would have guessed that.
I ordered one and when it comes in, I'll update this to let you all know if that was the problem.
