I have an older hotpoint oven in a cabin that has had some issues recently. I have tried searching the forums for similar issues, but have come up empty. Any advice is appreciated so I can diagnose once I go back this weekend.
I didn't get the model number while I was there, but it is an LP stove, pilot light ignition, no electricity whatsoever.
Symptoms: Pilot light will light, but will go out once I turn the knob down below 250 degrees. The top burners have been very small for a long time. Before I could turn two on at a time, though they would be very small flames. This last weekend I barely was able to light the one burner it was such a small flame coming out.
I have tried: Filling LP bottle Replacing regulator checking line for kinks/leaks Unhooked propane and open all knobs (that seemed to make it worse once I turned it back on)
Thanks for any help!

Where is your cabin located? If it's up in mountains at high elevation, it could cause such problem with the surface burners. Also, possible the oven thermostat has gone bad. Who and how convert the range to LP? The complete model number of the range would definitely help.

Hi, Thank you for your response, I just got back with the model number. RGA520 PW3WH.
It isn't up higher than 1,500'. It has been converted to LP for years- always been at this cabin and worked fine up until a few years back with the seemingly drop in pressure.

Which regulator had you replaced? Very likely the cause of the problem is a faulty LP pressure regulator. Unfortunately, this part is no longer available. Looks like it's a time for a new range.
