I have a Frigidaire freezer model FFFH17F2QWA that’s under 2 years old. Two weeks ago I noticed water on the floor below the door. Items on the top shelf were only partially frozen. I pulled the metal panel off from in front of the evaporator coil. No frost build-up on the coils. There was frozen water in the drain channel as well as the drain. After removing the ice build-up and confirming that the drain wasn’t plugged I temporarily replaced the panel. The freezer has been cooling to the extreme (dial thermometer almost pegged out as low as it can go). Sunday I put the panel screws back and noticed that in removing the panel I had set the thermostat to the coldest setting (7) so I moved it down to 5. The drain again had an ice plug which I again melted and confirmed again that the drain was working. This morning the compressor wasn’t on and items on the top shelf were only partially frozen. Thermometer was right at 32 degrees F. I upped the thermostat to the next coldest setting (6), nothing. A few minutes later I set it to the coldest setting (7). Compressor kicked on and the sides of the freezer got warm indicating the freezer was cooling off. I’m guessing the thermostat is bad?
