A few weeks ago walked into the room and found the high temp alarm going off and the door not seal light lit. Pretty much lost all the contents of the upright and inherited a stinky mess to clean along with a new repair problem.
Cleaned up the mess, tossed out all the contents and went to work trouble shooting with my minimal knowledge of this appliance. Came down to the conclusion to the lower door seal was not seated correctly, motor needed to be replaced and I possibly need to add refrigerant (lacked the proper piercing bullet at the time to trouble shoot fully). Parts arrived yesterday and I replaced the fan motor to address the air movement and the motor would stop/stick-- I also did the the 2 inch piece of paper test on the door seals and they seemed good to go. Added a light coat of lithium grease and closed the door and plugged the unit in. After an hour there was no noticeable cooling and the evaporator coils on the inside rear wall of the unit weren't anything to brag about :( Now with the rainy weather outside I'm left with this task on my honey do list but figured I'd seek advice before heading to recharge the unit. BTW the unit was never frozen over prior or leading to this "HotInHere" situation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
