I just replaced the Thermal fuse on our Whirpool Cabrio dryer. Now every time it runs it gets hot. You can smell it and feel it when touching the outside of the dryer. The vent is clear, the lint screen is clean, it completes the cycle, but it's hot. I'm' worried about a fire.

The thermal fuse opens due to temps over 91C for a few minutes.

Run it on air dry and see if it heats internally. If so you probably have a grounded element.

It could also be a stuck relay on your main control. Less likely.
