I have a dryer thats squeaking like crazy. Repair tech says it needs some felt pads and a bushing. Parts $80ish, total repair $500ish.
Its a front loader, if I push up on the front of the basket - it moves almost 1/4 inch. Something is certainly worn.
I think I'll try it myself if I can get some info. Otherwise, time for a new one.
Can anyone help with what parts it might be?

#23 and 24 on this diagram are your front felt slides, that'll fix the movement you feel. At a minimum do the upper felt, it's the most worn. Parts for Frigidaire GLGH1642FS1: Upper Cabinet / Drum Heater Parts - AppliancePartsPros.comSqueaking is probably the rear bearing. Might be the pulley that keeps the belt tight but probably the bearing. Frigidaire 5303281153 Rear Drum Bearing Kit - AppliancePartsPros.comDoing it yourself is an ambitious project unless you're pretty handy by nature. You should be quite proud if you do it successfully. Neither is a very hard repair, however being a laundry center adds some difficulty getting it apart. Post back if you decide to do it and I'll walk you through as best as I can. There are excellent videos here at the part links for many things. Your laundry center is similar to the stand alone dryer the video shows.
