We have a Maytag oven that lately is slow to heat up. The broiler seems to work fine. This morning, I watched it and saw that the element was glowing red and the temperature was rising steadily. Next thing I noticed was the temperature had stopped rising and the element had gone black. I could hear the control clicking. After a short time, the element kicked in, turned red and the temperature started rising. Is the problem with the element, the temperature sensor or the controller? Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot the problem?

You've probably got a bad bake relay on your control board. I couldn't find any new ones, but you could have it repaired. Just do a search by part number 12001603.
