Dear Gurus,

We have recently bought our first house with the Kitchen Aid fridge KSRP25FNBL00. It is in a very good shape and condition, but there is a tiny problem.

The ice maker makes the ice, freezes water in there, but it does not dump it very often. It has made 1/2 of the storage box in 1 week. So it does function but not to its full extent.

The optics maybe causing the issue, but I am not 100% sure. The LED light on the right blinks twice per second, blocking that sensor and unblocking the sensor does not make any difference in terms of the light blinking.

I think that it could be two things:

1. Optics
2. Motor that dumps ice

Would anyone please suggest what I should do in this case? I have seen a similar post but the issue was a bit different.

Thank you all very much!

Its probably the optical boards. Here is a video. part # W10757851 All kinds of prices for these boards $40 to $200. Shop around.

I wouldn't do the wire jumpering part. So many ways for that to go wrong.

The other thing to check for is the temperature should be around 10 degrees F in the freezer for good ice production.
