Good evening,

I have a Kitchenmaid Dishwasher that will not drain water out after a cleaning cycle. I have replaced the drain pump and it still will not drain. I have cleaned the filters, chopper, and screen. The chopper screen was very full of debris.

When I hold the Cancel/Drain button, I hear a click but the pump will not engage. Any thoughts about what could be the issue? Do you think it could be the control board? I can't think of another reason why the pump wouldn't work when new. Does the sensor help to initiate the drain pump?

I appreciate any assistance you might be able to provide. Best, Dan

Did you ever find out what the problem was? I have a Kenmore Elite from 2005 which is exhibiting the same symptoms. It has been working like a champ for the past 10 years. Every 1-2 years I have cleaned out the sump trap and chopper assembly. I just decided to do that last week again, and when I put everything back together, it ran fine with a vinegar full cycle rinse. Now, at then end of a cycle, it won't drain from the bottom of the basin, all I hear is a click behind the door, like a relay activating, but no pump or motor sound whatsoever. Please advise.
