I need to replace the variable speed fan switch (Part Number WB24X10035 (AP2024373)) of my GE Monogram downdraft vent (model # ZVB36SH1SS).

The fan switch is behind the top right of the snorkel, underneath the top trim. I was told the trim can be removed so I can access the switch. However, there are no exterior screws that holds down the trim. If I look up where the air is pulled in, underneath the trim there appears to be fasteners (3) along the length of the trim that is holding it in place. They don't appear to be screws or bolts for me to loosen. Can I just pull the trim off? or is there something else holding it down? It seems the trim is held down very tight and I don't want to break it off.
