I have a Jenn-Air Downdraft glass cooktop, model JED8430ADB, SN 19258404EN. Tje Right rear burner fails to heat. Removed the infinity switch.
It's part number is 7403P590-60. Search for it online and found nothing. Went to various appliance parts sites and was informed the proper switch is 7101166/7403P405-60. Ordered the recommended part installed and now the burner heats BUT it is indexed 90 degress off. In other words, in the off position it is pointing at 9 not OFF. Tried standing on my head, looked at it cross eyed, still 90 degrees off. There are no adjustments on part that I can tell to make up the positioning.
I did find on WhirlPools parts site, several parts that may apply, 74011242 and 7403P402-60. Before I go off half cocked and order any more parts, Maybe ya'll can shed some light on my predicament.

I looked it up and they show three kinds of switch were used, but not where they put them in.

There are two of this part no.12002125

One of this no. 71001166

Another crosses to 71001612 which is a dual burner. The 12002125 seems to be a dual burner switch also. I'm not sure how accurate this is.

Is this one of the switches that has 4 screw holes in the top? If it is you could just rotate it 90 degrees and reinstall.

You could drill two new holes in the control panel. Are all the knobs the same? Could you have swapped a knob?

Part # 71001166 (7403p405-60) has only 2 mounting screw holes and is indexed properly for the left front burner. Confirmed by checking part number on left burner switch. By the way, all knobs are keyed the same.
Did find a part number for a 4 mounting screw hole switch, 7403p402-60. With luck it should work.
As an aside, on the infinity switch, there is a small screw that can be adjusted. Wondering what its function is?

Please don't mess with that screw, they are adjusted at the factory.

All switches are not interchangeable. There are 6" and 8" switches. Dual element and speed heat. So many different kinds.

I'd probably order part no.12002125. Its listed as a replacement for this unit.

Sorry for delay in response.
Received part number 7403p402-60. This part had 4 mounting screws so it could be mounted (indexed) for the right rear 6in burner. It is working Ok fine.
BTW, the complicating factor in this problem, I believe, has been the fact that, JennAir was bought by Maytag(1982) who was subsequently bought by Whirlpool (2006). I finally found the part number on whilrpoolparts.com site.
