Hello--

I have a Frigidaire refrigerator (model FRT13CRH / FRT13CRHW1) that isn't configured for the user to self-install an ice maker.

Has anyone ever retrofit an ice maker into a refrigerator that wasn't designed for an ice maker? Is there a particular model of ice maker that you would recommend for such an undertaking?

The particular model of refrigerator is a smaller model that we have in our cabin up north. The replacement model now does have this feature, but we didn't want to buy a new fridge just to get an ice maker.

20 years ago a drilled a hole in the side of an old refrigerator to create a "keg-erator" for a keg of beer. However, I'm now older and a bit wiser. Wanted to get some feedback from those who might have experience with this.

Thanks! Would appreciate any feedback you may have.

Before you go drilling holes through refrigerators and adding new wiring harnesses, you might want to consider something like this:

Portable, doesn't need a fridge to work. Won't go to the dump with your old fridge when it dies and its about the price of most IM kits.

Good suggestion, thanks for the feedback. Cabin is small, counter space a premium, but that's probably an idea worth checking out.

Much appreciated
