The defrost heater and thermostat are no longer available for this model..
This is the only thing wrong with the refrigerator. It works fine other than having to take the freezer back panel off every couple of weeks to melt the ice build up which stops the refrigerator portion from cooling. I am trying to find parts that will work to replace the defective parts. I have found defrost heaters that will fit and work, but am having trouble finding a thermostat. The original thermostat has these numbers on it: 39TV31 507403 L16.2 21.6C S30804A I am assuming the L16.2 and 21.6C refer to temperature. What exactly do they mean? How do I determine what the correct temperature would be for a thermostat? This refrigerator is far too good to just get rid of it and purchase a replacement. It belongs to a family friend who can not really afford to purchase a new one. Thanks.
