Hello, i have kenmore model# 665.75822000 gas range some how the clean select button on the switch got damaged when my wife cleaned the keypad of the Electronic Oven Control. This set a code of E0 F2 which meant a key was stuck. I looked on Sears Parts Direct for a new switch membrane part# 8272702 i bought it online. The EOC did not respond to the brand new switch membrane that is factory Whirpool part. So i figured it must also be the Electronic Oven Control board part# 8190201 must be bad also. so I ordered a new one of those when it got here it still would not respond to the switch membrane. So I decided to try the old switch brain with the new board after I made the damage button no longer be stuck and the board responds to the old switch membrane when pluging it in. By this time I'm thinking that the brand new Switch membrane was a defective part. Asking the person on amazon for an exchange of the switch membrane he said that was his last one didn't have any more and offered to refunded my money so I could purchase another one. when the new one got here the EOC also would not respond to the second new Switch membrane. Both newer switch membranes have the same tags and are labeled the same on them all three have the same part number the original switch brain in the oven head a labeling by FSP I believe that was made by "Factory Service Parts" for whirlpool for Kenmore. the only other difference in lableing of the tags on th 2 new switch membran parts as they state the state " rev e. Can you give me some direction. Thanks for your time and help,

The Whirlpool control panel membranes seem to be designed to fail. My Whirlpool range and another on this site, both failed leaving only the BROIL and CANCEL buttons working (for both ranges). It costs $100 a pop to replace. Does anyone know how or why these stick on electronics fail?
