Have an electric dryer in vacation home used about 10 times in the past 1.5 years. The door will not open. There is power and the dryer will turn on but the door will not open. The home is in AZ and the AC is set to 85 F. Someone felt it got too hot in the house and the seal melted causing it to lock ( which I found impossible to believe). Thank you

Whirlpool Duet dryers typically do not have locking doors. The door catch may just be jammed in the strike. Try lifting the door up a bit while pulling. Many times when people use these dryers they place a hand on the door while pulling clothes out of the dryer pressing some weight on it causing it to be ajar. This over time can then cause the catch to be offset in the strike making it difficult to open. Oh I agree 85 degrees is not really gonna melt rubber! I have some old units in various stages of refurb out in my "non A/C" shop in Florida during the summer and never have melted a rubber seal.
