Hello. My dishwasher is 2 years, 7 months old and it won't start. My situation is almost (if not) identical to this thread: http://forum.appliancepartspros...7609aws2-wont-start.htmlFrom reading here, and a few DIY type sites, I've done the following: -hit normal - heated dry - normal (5 times) and it entered a maintenance cycle. All of my lights came on when I did this. The water started to fill, but nothing really happened otherwise. Eventually, the water was starting to drip out, so I unplugged it as it's not hard wired. -I disconnected the control panel from the control box. I then closed the door, and plugged the dishwasher back in. I could hear what sounds like a solenoid click twice in the control box, but the drain motor wouldn't kick in. While I was disconnecting parts, and examining things, I tripped the door latch and it snapped on my finger with some force. It does not appear to be broken, but it also doesn't seem to latch correctly now when I close the door. I then tested the door latch switch for continuity, and it tested fine. I then plugged the washer back in with the panel disconnected, closed the door switch manually, and the drain motor kicked in just fine and drained the water out. I believe I am having one or two problems, and wanted to get your thoughts. 1) bad control panel. I can also see what appears to be some rust spots inside the panel on the ribbon. I can't figure out how to separate the control panel. Is it not serviceable? I want to get a better look as it might just be the control ribbon. 2) likely in addition to #1, the door latch is broken. I reconnected the panel to the control box, closed the switch manually, and still could not get the start button to do anything. I know that really doesn't prove the switch being broken, but the test to get the drain motor to kick on points to it. All help is appreciated.

Did you ever get the Maytag MDB7609AWS2 dishwasher back up and running? What was the problem (in as much detail as you can remember.) TIA .
