I cannot control temp Kenmore Elite refrigerator Model #795.75544401. The control display above the water dispenses is not responsive (does not light up, buttons do not function. Upper refrigerator compartment freezes most of the food. This situation occurred over a year ago - I replaced the main board and the control display board. The display board still did not work, but food in the top part was no longer freezing. So I left it at that.

Now a year later, food is freezing again in the upper part. The bottom freezer appears to be working okay. Any advice is appreciated. :(

I now have Sears Appliance Maintenance contract. Refrigerator still freezing food in upper part. Technician traced issue to broken wire in wall of fridge and pronounced it repairable. Essentially, the main board cannot communicate with temp display / control board. Because of the Sears contract, they offered a $500 store credit to purchase a new fridge. I had replaced the main and display boards. The freezer works fine. Fridge is 11 years old. Would appreciate any thoughts. Is it really repairable?

Do you mean non repairable? If there is a wire inside the liner and broken, then no it can not be repaired. At least not by a tech. If you wanted to drill a couple holes and run a new wire externally, it would work, just be ugly.
