Ice maker stopped making ice a couple of weeks ago. The water solenoid appears to be good, if I jumper terminals L and V on the control module water flows into the ice maker. Once filled, the cycle works as expected, ending with a harvest a couple of hours after filling. Once the harvest completes, at the point where water should flow into the tray, nothing happens. If I manually jumper L and V, water flows, and the cycle repeats normally.

I replaced the control module today with a brand new one. No change, still no water flow during the normal cycle. Jumpering L and V will force water flow, and everything works from there until the harvest completes.

What should I be looking for now?

Very interesting. The module should have fixed it. There are cams inside the module that send current to the valve. Basically, they internally connect L and V. Have you jumped T and H to force a harvest and probed V and ground and waited to see if there is a voltage connection to V when it harvests? That would tell you if the internal cams are working properly.

Thanks for responding. There is indeed voltage between V and N during part of the harvest cycle. Voltage, but no water. I jumped L and V after the cycle completed, water flowed as expected. Doesn't make sense.

It sure doesn't make sense. I'm baffled. If jumping voltage to V causes water flow, then the cams internally connecting them should have the same effect. Out of curiosity, what is the voltage you are reading between V and N when the unit harvests and energizes it as if to call for water?

Voltage between V and N wavers between 107 and 108 volts. This is with the NEW control module.

121/122 volts between L and N

I'm going to go with the new control is defective. You are dropping too many volts. 107/108 isn't enough to energize the valve. That's why it works when you jump line to it directly, but not when the cams connect them. Best answer I got, but I'd say it's the only possibility.

Ok, thanks. I'll see about returning this one and getting another one.
