I have a smaller Kenmore chest freezer maybe 12 cf. Bought it new 2 winters ago for deer meat storage, after we cleaned it out last summer I unplugged it until this winter. Now it will not start. Nothing was done to it, it was not moved, not moisture...the ornage light comes on but no other signs of life.

I looked inside the service panel, the insides look like the old dorm fridges..nothing looks like it should be moving.??

Idea or is this one for the repair man?

if you are handy, the first thing id try is with the power off to jump the two wires that go to the Thermostat and see if that gets the compressor running...

It may have been in the defrost mode when you shut it down and you just have to leave it on long enough to come out of defrost.

Jumping the thermostat did not work, how long is long enough. I've had it on over night and it did not start.

It makes a little hum or sounds like it will run and the little tank gets warm but no cool.

I got my side by side full of deer steaks..sure could use the room.
