I checked my in-laws warm fridge and saw the coils were frosted over. I turned the defrost timer and the glow bars glowed so I figured it was the timer and defrosted the fridge. In doing so I turned the timer a few more times and it did not glow again after the click - several times.

I replaced the defrost timer with a new one but do you think I broke the heating element somehow?

Aaaand it's frosted over again. Dammit. Did I really fry the heating element somehow? I swear it turned on once.
