My dryer is sqeeking and sounds like the drum is rubbing on something constantly. How can i fix it or can it be fixed. I have no clue

Most likely something simple. It could be a drum support roller bearing gone bad (see part #21 Parts for Whirlpool WED5500XW0: Bulkhead Parts - AppliancePartsPros.com) or even the belt idler pulley bearing (see part #13 Parts for Whirlpool WED5500XW0: Cabinet Parts - AppliancePartsPros.com. Finally it may the front or rear drum felt seal (part #27 Parts for Whirlpool WED5500XW0: Bulkhead Parts - AppliancePartsPros.com) Yes you can repair it yourself and there are repair videos at each part # link I just gave. Actually watch the videos to see disassembly and check each part to determine which is bad.
