My whirlpool washer will only fill with water and make a humming sound. We have changed the lid switch and motor. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you have installed a new motor and you still get a humming sound the reason could be the start capacitor is bad. You can find one here @ Whirlpool WP8572717 Capacitor - AppliancePartsPros.com Does it drain and spin? Also another reason is the transmission may be locked up.
