I have a Thermador UCV30 down draft vent with a VTR630D remote blower. The unit has been used very little in the past three years and now will not stay running. No matter which speed button you push the blower will only run for about 2 seconds and then shut off. There are no obstructions in vent pipe...air blows very briskly out of the exhaust, and the filters are not plugged. Any ideas?

I have the same problem. Mine runs a little longer, but shuts off. If I cycle it down and up again, it will start and run for a few seconds or a few minutes, but then cuts out again. Anyone know what's causing this?

I purchased a new relay board for the UCV30 and the problem still exists. The three switches (up limit, down limit, interference) appear to be working properly. The only thing left to check on the UCV30 is the pcb board that the controls are on..which seems to be difficult to get to. So at this point it is either the remote blower or control board. Anybody have any issues with remote blowers that sound like this?

I too have this problem with my lightly used UCV30. Motor begins to run for a second or two them shuts down with all lights on the control panel illuminated. Likewise, the three limit switches are fine, I have replaced the relay board, independently the fan motor works fine, the vent is unobstructed. Ahhh what is the matter with this ding-dang vent? Could it be the PCB switch selector buttons themselves? These aren't cheap and seemingly difficult to get at so I am reluctant to purchase if not broken. I have a feeling it might be a broken/fatigued wire from the units up/down travel. I don't want to replace the unit because I'll never find something that is tailored so well to the cook-top (subsequent models are for larger cavities), besides this unit was not cheap.
